John Tench, M.A. (Cantab)John Tench was born in Manchester, England. Following schooling at Mount St Mary's College, he obtained an Open Exhibition (a scholarship open to general competition) to Churchill College, Cambridge to read Engineering. His specialist subjects were Operations Research, Statistics and Economics. John has achieved Honours in the Canadian Securities Course and has passed LOMA Level 1. After working for a number of Consulting firms and financial services companies in the City of London, John immigrated to Canada. Now based in Toronto, John has worked for a number of leading organisations, including Royal Bank of Canada, Scotiabank, Canada Life, CIBC, BMO Financial Group, TD Bank, Intact Insurance/ ING Canada, Foresters and Lafarge. He is a Board Member and Past President of the Information Resource Management Association of Canada (IRMAC) and a past member of the Operational Research Society. In 1995, perceiving the enormous potential of the Internet, John launched IRMAC's web site, www.irmac.ca He has been webmaster ever since, enhancing the site along the way and, most recently, adding online payment capability. He is married to Denise and has an 17 year old son, Daniel. In his spare time he enjoys Badminton and Skiing, acting as volunteer with the Canadian Association of Disabled Skiing
